Freelance copywriter, based in North Wales, UK

".....this stuff is excruciatingly difficult if you haven’t got the skills, experience and intuitive flair Gillian has"

I’m fantastically autistic and I love words. I love stories, so working with other people’s

stories felt like I was living the dream. Aside from web copy and content, brand story

strategy is where I’m happiest. I’m also moving into personal branding, as in brand voice, brand messaging, mission and vision.

Freelance copywriter for SMEs

I usually work with small to medium businesses, sometimes solo flyers. I often start with

brand story and strategy at the beginning, for maybe one or two sessions. We can work on it together or I can work on it for you as part of a done-for-you service. I also work with someone for up to 3 months on the whole caboodle, brand story, brand messaging, voice, mission and vision. I can also help get you started with content e.g. blogs and articles and possibly a content plan going forward.

With the longer 3-month retainer programme you can hop off at any time if you

give me about a week’s notice. That gives me time to make room for another client.

Naturally, I still also provide web copy and content for saas, tech, therapists and

nonprofits who do great things for the neurodivergent community.

You can see more about that below.

"She's a genius and you're missing out if you don't work with her."

Who is Gillian Jones, copywriter?

I’m a research-thirsty nerd with a deep, abiding love of books and ideas, a powerful imagination, and an uncanny ability to see the details and the patterns, because my friend, the devil is ALL in the detail.

“If you’re struggling to find focus and clarity in your marketing, Gillian will strip everything right back to create the content that best reflects you and your business.”

If you’re a SaaS or tech company that’s created an app, gadget or program that’s been created for a neurodivergent individual or community, you’ve come to the right place.

I’m a neurodivergent copywriter (ASD), with a flair for words, a thirst for research and a passion for writing state-of-the-art, well-researched copy that resonates and guides your audience to where you want them to be - with you, listening to you talk about what’s important to you - your product or service you’ve spent weeks, months, years to perfect so you can help those who need it most.

And I’m with you. All the way.

You want to stand out from the competition and be seen by the right people,  not swept aside by a mass of same - it's not enough to just give them the facts, the features and the benefits, they want the story behind the invention, the sweat and the pain before the creation.

What's my story?

I found out I was on the spectrum as an adult, but it didn’t come as a surprise, I’d known for a long time, asking questions, and carrying out research, looking for clues. Suddenly, it all made sense, that aha moment when I realised that I wasn’t crazy, just different. Not stupid, but divergent, not difficult, but individual and distinctive.

Then I had an official diagnosis and did some more digging and some more reading. I’m happy with who I am, but I wasn't happy with what I was doing.

And then the world imploded.  There’s nothing like world events like a pandemic to centre your mind and make you realise what’s important.

So, I’m repositioning and recalibrating - I’m now a freelance technology copywriter for SaaS and tech products for neurodivergent people.

But I’m also looking to work with those who provide services such as therapists and nonprofits, again for neurodivergent people.

You see, I’ve grown into this person over the years who inhales information and absorbs hidden details, and it’s not a fault, it’s an advantage, one I can utilise to help those I serve.
