I help businesses serving disabled communities by providing inclusive web copy and content that stands out, reaching the people who truly need those services the most. These include nonprofits, assistive tech + therapists, but they could be anyone who doesn't fit quite that description, but still do things that matter to those in the disabled space or with mental health conditions that need support.
Storytelling and business go hand in hand...
Although I provide words for your website, I also provide business storytelling and if you're struggling with how to tell stories about your organization, I help you to work out what that story or stories might be, and devise a strategy with you on how you might do that going forward.
We've talked about how fundamentally important stories are to organizations, whether you're a nonprofit or a tech firm. Rather than relying too much on statistics and data (and trust me, I'm someone who loves data), try telling stories to your readers, to your audience instead. When you're presenting people with endless facts and figures, you might well be sending them to sleep, when what you really need to do is tell them a story.

Storytelling for Business Presentation
Ask yourself, "Is there a story that I can tell that will get me past this place that I'm stuck at right now?" - that's if you think you might be losing your audience. If you're not getting anywhere, tell a story, one that will resonate with them - naturally, I'm not suggesting you tell a story irrelevant to your theme, but if you want to sell the qualities and the advantages of your product or service, tell a story instead of relying too much on facts and figures.
Motivate people to feel they can do something or take action, and contribute to a cause...
Appeal to people's higher selves by inspiring them to be a part of something bigger. What can they do to help your cause? How can they be a part of something truly amazing?
Illustrating a problem and showing your audience you have the solution...
You can use stories to illustrate a problem - one that you believe you can solve. If you're trying to sell something, an idea, or a physical product, you can show instead of sell by telling an interesting, relevant story that motivates people to action. Use fewer tired, overused 'selling' words and try more authentic storytelling.
Remember that we tell stories all the time without realising it, we tell them by default, because that's what we are - storytellers. You just don't recognise them. And your stories are unique in the way that you are. When you think you can't tell stories, because you've never been a writer before you started this business - remember, you can and do tell stories, all the time. You just need them to use them cleverly and apply them to your organization.
