Quarter one and quarterly goals, Christmas holidays, and when I'm available

A plastic chair with a small noticeboard on it saying "It's brrrr season" and an Apple laptop with a wooden effect lid. There's also a Starbucks cardboard cup in red with a tangerine.

It's that time of year when everyone starts to wind down for Christmas. I'm sure there are many freelancer business owners who will have shut up shop until January, even the end of January, while others will still be working. Quarter one is looking and there'll be those oh so important quarterly goals, so don't leave things until the very last minute.

It's hard to know whether you should contact anyone without getting the obligatory out-of-office 000 message. To make things easier, I'm going to tell you exactly when I'm available and what you can expect in the run-up to Christmas, and what's happening during the holiday.

Basically, I'm working right up until Christmas week, but if you want a project urgently, it's best to get in touch with me now (1st - 15th) to get a big project done. There's no point giving me a 20-page website copy project and expecting it to be done before Christmas.

There's a reason why it's important to plan ahead.

A one-off job, on the other hand, is doable - within reason. Projects that fall into that category would be an About Page, a LinkedIn profile, any other one-off page (such as a Landing Page), or one blog article up to 1000 words. But asking me to do it on Christmas Eve isn't happening. Again, a heavy dose of common sense helps. I can start on something by all means, but you won't get it finished and delivered until after Christmas. Also, copy-editing, rearranging, or cross-referencing/checking an article that you built with AI, but don't feel confident in putting it out there.

I could start on a web copy project in the next couple of weeks and get it done before Christmas. Anything in the third week isn't feasible, but I could start now and finish by the first week in January. If you don't want me to start this month, and you want to book in advance, that's fine. However, a deposit to secure your place is required, and to protect the time and effort I will put into the work.

Don't forget that quarter one begins in January, and whether you're a tech business or a nonprofit, you will have goals so you can track progress across the following 3 months. I'm here to help, so don't leave it until the last minute.

So, to summarize -

  1. I'm available throughout December for short-term jobs

  2. I'm available for larger web copy projects, but only up to the 15th of December. Anything after that can be started, but won't be finished until after Christmas

  3. I can provide the following short-term jobs -

    About Page,

    A LinkedIn profile,

Any other one-off page (such as a Landing Page)

Copy-editing, rearranging, or cross-referencing/checking an article that you built with AI, but don't feel confident in putting it out there

  4. We can also look at content strategies, brand story, and quarter one goals if it helps clear your head, ready for January, prices on request.

Message me if you're not sure of what you want, or if you want a no-obligation chat about your strategy/copy/branding/editing requirements.
